On September 10th, the first steel assembly of Algiers Airport has been successfully hoisted, which is 29 meters long and weighs 54 tons. It marked the beginning of the steel construction of Algiers Airport new terminal building, which is the largest airport project CSCEC Steel constructed in Algeria.
The new terminal building is located at the west side of Algiers Capital Airport - Boumedienne International Airport, which covers an area of 650,000 square meters. Its construction area is 200,000 square meters, including one new terminal building and one energy center. The project steel structure is designed, manufactured and constructed by CSCEC Steel with a steel tonnage of about 13,000 tons.
The new terminal building is designed with an annual passenger traffic of 10 million. With A Class standard of the International Civil Aviation Organization, it will become an aviation hub in North Africa after completion, which will facilitate the economic, trade and cultural exchanges of the entire Mediterranean coast.
This project is another landmark project constructed by CSCEC Steel in Africa after the Algeria Grand Mosque-the world's third largest mosque. CSCEC Steel is now demonstrating its capacity in the high-end steel market in Algeria.
